They and Us is a website created to connect vegans, flexitarians and omnivores to plant based food, cruelty free products and give helpful tips on how to live life a more sustainable and ethical way.
My name is Dee Mehta and I've been vegan since 2014. I've studied and worked in fashion my entire adult life but I am also obsessed with food. I started my food blog Vegan Dee on Instagram in 2015 to show everyone how plentiful a plant based diet can be. I would eat out constantly, trying to find a vegan option on every menu I'd pass and I loved it! However, in this day and age eating out isn't the solution to everything. Thus began the recipe creating and learning how to make epic vegan versions of my favourite dishes.
I changed careers to work in the food industry in 2020, studying at Le Cordon Bleu for my Plant Based Diploma in 2021 before training as a Private Chef and ultimately landing a job at the dream restaurant; Alter in Leman Locke.
In 2023 I decided to take my experience to lead a new path and begin curating social events, supper clubs and consultancy. I now work full time promoting vegan living and eating while getting to meet my clients (now friends!) in real time and getting to change the way we look at Chef's in this world.
